A Funeral Mass for Carol Jean (Jones) Berry, age 96, of Newark, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 26, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 40 Granville Street in Newark, with Father PeterClaver Kasasa Kiviiri officiating. Burial will take place in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newark.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, November 25, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street in Newark where a Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 p.m.

Carol was born July 7, 1928 in Newark, Ohio to the late Chester and Virginia (Smith) Jones. She passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024 at the Inn at SharonBrooke.

Carol retired from the Newark Air Force Base where she worked in data entry and as a supply clerk. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church in Newark where she was active with Newborns In Need.

She is survived by four children, Gary Berry of Las Vegas, Nevada, Cynthia McGauley of Brunswick, Georgia, Raymond Keith Berry of Cincinnati, and Amy (Kevin) Edmonds of Orlando, Florida; five grandchildren, Gary (Maile) Berry, Elise Berry, Anthony McGauley, Jessica McGauley, and Lauren Edmonds; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Carl Berry in 2022; and by two brothers, James R. Jones and Gordon L. Jones; and a great-grandchild.
