Carol Joan Knuchel

A funeral service celebrating the life of Carol Joan Knuchel, age 71, of Thornville will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, at the New Life Baptist Church, 11824 Jacksontown Road in Thornville with Pastor Jon Emory officiating. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, at the Thornville home of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service, 56 South Main Street in Thornville and also from 12-1 p.m. prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Private burial will take place at Beallsville Cemetery. Joan was born April 6, 1947 in Oak Harbor, Ohio to the late Floyd Frederick and Esther Eileen (Humphrey) Taylor. She passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Joan was a Licensed Practical Nurse. She attended New Life Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing, tending her flowers, woodworking and crocheting. She is survived by three children, Mark D. (Dawnel) Knuchel of King George, VA, JoEva L. (Tim) Hager of Thornville and Eileen C. (James) Hutchison of Cambridge; grandchildren, Garrit, Jeremey, Brent, Mitchel, MaKayla, Chloe, Jennavieve and Simon; and a great-granddaughter; siblings, Gary (Marie) Taylor of Friendly, WV, Ellen (Jack) Riley of Beallsville, Thomas (Donna) Taylor of Woodsfield and Stephen (Christina) Taylor of Clarington; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Laverne Knuchel on December 17, 2014.
