Carolyn J. Dittoe

A funeral service celebrating the life of Carolyn J. (Smart) Dittoe, 86, of Thornville, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2022 in the chapel of the Thornville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Doug Lynn as celebrant. Burial to follow in the Lutheran Reformed Cemetery, Thornville, where Carolyn will be laid to rest next to her husband Jack, who preceded her in death on May 25, 2021.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, December 21, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, 56 South Main St. in Thornville.

Carolyn died early Monday, December 19, 2022, following a brief illness. She was born in Brownsville, on August 19, 1936, the daughter of the late Paul and Sarah (Hitchcock) Smart. She worked for several years at the Licking Co. ASCS, prior to staying home to raise her family and work on the family farm. She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, Thornville.

She is survived by her loving family: son, Ron (Linda) Dittoe of Thornville; grandsons, Rusty, Nick and Austin (Darien) Dittoe; K.C. and Faith Doup; her great grandchildren, Jaxon, Hunter, Rylee, Noah and Charli-Jo.

The family prefers that memorial contributions be directed to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Road SE, Newark, OH 43055. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
