A memorial service, celebrating the life of Carolyn E. Woods, 65, of Kirkersville, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 in the Outville Presbyterian Church, with her pastor, the Rev. M. Stephen Merold as celebrant. Carolyn died suddenly on April 22, 2014, at The Ohio State University Hospital following a brief illness. She was born January 26, 1949, in Mason County, W.V., the daughter of the late Fred Talmadge and Lilly Frances (Rickard) Kaylor. She was a graduate of Wahama H.S., class of 1966, and Parkersburg Beauty College in 1967. An active member of the Kirkersville community, Carolyn owned and operated her own beauty salon for many years. She was also a member of the Kirkersville Village Council for years, as well as the Outville Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her loving family, husband Fred, whom she married on September 28, 1968, daughter Carrie Woods (Mike Armstrong) of Kirkersville, son Fred Woods (Charlotte McKeehan) of Port St. Lucie, FL., sisters Jane Crow, Peggy Evans, Mary Ann McCrady, brothers Wendell Kaylor and Quentin Kaylor; grandchildren Kaylor, Kaybie and Brooke; sisters in law Rita Lieindecker, Carol Hite, Karen Woods, brother in law Larry Woods; along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Elroy and Robert D. Kaylor, sisters Valeria McCallister and Phyllis Miller; brothers in law Robert Woods, Charles and Herb Tinkham and her grandson Johnathan. Friends may call at the church, 6463 Outville Rd. S.W., Pataskala, Ohio 43062, on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be directed to the Arthur C. James Cancer Hospital at the Ohio State University.
