Catherine E. Williams

A graveside service celebrating the life of Catherine E. Williams, age 73, of Newark, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, at Kirkersville Cemetery with Pastor Keith Sjostrand officiating. Military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

Catherine was born May 13, 1949 in Newark, Ohio to the late Myron A. and Frances M. (Johns) Brooks. She passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022 at Licking Memorial Hospital.

Catherine was a 1967 graduate of Newark High School and served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War era. Catherine retired in 2007 from the Department of Defense Newark Air Force Base in Heath. Catherine was an active member of the Christian Apostolic Church in Newark. She enjoyed traveling and lived for short periods of time in California, New Jersey, and Texas. She also enjoyed reading and quilting.

She is survived by her children, Kristina Edwards of San Antonio, Texas, Daniel (Shannon) Edwards of Newark, and Kelly (Anthony) Ortega of Hebron; grandchildren, Neil T. (Danielle) Landerfelt III of Joint Base Lewis, McChord, Washington, Aleni and Mikael Estopier of San Antonio, Texas, and Avery and Noah Edwards of Newark; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Neil T. Landerfelt IV; siblings, James (Gerry) Milliser of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Debbie (Randy) Johnson of Rogers Arkansas, Brian (Gloria) Brooks of Gilbert, Arizona, John Milliser of Heath, and Michael (Joann) Cramer of Houston, Texas; in-laws, Larry (Patricia) Williams of Thornville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Williams in 2016; and by her step-father, Chance Cramer; and a brother, Myron J. Brooks.
