A funeral service, celebrating the life of Charles F. Fisher, 85, of Newark, will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Gus Andrews officiating. Burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home, one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.Charles was born in Newark, Ohio on April 19, 1929 to the late Charles W. and Elma Fisher. He passed away on March 29, 2015 at Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Newark.Charles proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. Prior to retirement, he was a brakeman with B & O Railroad for many years. He was a member of the Newark Church of the Nazarene; Heisey Glass Museum; and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, June and Roger Billman of Newark; two grandchildren, Greg (Amanda) Billman and Chris (Jeannie) Billman; six great grandchildren, Braydan, Brenton, Mariah, Hunter, Sydney and Spencer; and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his spouse, Mildred A. Fisher in 2005; brother, Arthur Fisher; and sister, Evelyn Charlesworth.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Charles to Foundation For Hospice of Central Ohio, P.O.
