Charles Fankhauser

Funeral services for Charles F Fankhauser, 92, of Buckeye Lake, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2017, in the chapel of the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor William Koppert officiating. Burial will follow in the Kirkersville Cemetery. Charles died Wednesday morning, June 28, 2017, in Newark. He was born in Moundsville, W.V., on March 23, 1925, the son of the late Amos and Carrie (Swegard) Fankhauser. He was a graduate of Moundsville H.S., class of 1942, and retired after 32 years of service with Rockwell International in Heath. He was a member of the VFW Post #1388 at Buckeye Lake, and Buckeye Lake Eagles #2801. His wife of 56 years, Dorothy, preceded him in death on March 10, 2002. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his only sister. He is survived by his daughter Diana L. (John) Harris of Newark, son Donald Fankhauser of Buckeye Lake, grandchildren Teri (Randy) Zollinger of Newark, Rhonda Stocklask of Moundsville, W.V., Donna Hill of Baltimore, Chad (Erin) Harris of Dublin, Scott (Lisa) Harris of Nashport , Tiffany Fankhauser of Mansfield, and Nick Fankhauser of Denver, Co.; and his 11 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 Noon, until time of funeral services at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home, 285 E Main Street in Kirkersville. Memorial Contributions in his memory may be directed to the V.F.W. Charities. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
