A funeral service celebrating the life of Charles A. Harris, 79, of Thornville, will be held on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Thornville chapel of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Jeremy Shank officating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 56 S. Main Street, Thornville, on Sunday, October 28th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Charles was born on August 9, 1939 in Cabin Creek, WV to the late Ted and Alice (Whitley) Harris. He passed away at the Pickering House in Lancaster on October 24, 2018. Prior to retirement, Charles was a machinist with Rockwell International for over 30 years. He enjoyed watching baseball, was an avid Columbus Clippers, Washington Redskins and WV Mountaineers fan. He was a volunteer with the Amvets and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his children, Gregory (Jen) Harris, Jerry (Jonna) Harris and Charlie Ray (Patsy) Harris; brother, Larry (Vanessa) Harris; sister, Shirley Burnsworth and Katherine Schonaurer; grandchildren, Kayla Bissett, Tiffany Harris, Jeremiah Harris, Zachary Harris, Kristina Harris, Haley Harris, Greg Harris II and Greg Harris III; and great grandchildren, Landyn Bissett, Natalie Atwood and Aubrie Atwood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Bobby, Tommy, Richard and Roger Harris; and sisters, Jane Hofer and Betty Brown.
