Charles M. "Monte" Longstreth

Charles M. Monte Longstreth, 67, of Newark, passed away on March 25, 2018 at Mt. Carmel West Hospital in Columbus. He was born in Riverside, California on September 16, 1950 to the late Charles and Jeanne (Montross) Longstreth. Monte proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was an avid sports fan, especially following the Ohio State Buckeyes. He loved spending time with his family and doting over his grandchildren. Survivors include his daughters, Heidy (Jeremy) Roberts and Kristin (Travis) Bashore; grandchildren, Quincy, Derek, Montana, Austin and Colton; great grandson, Ayden; special friend, Crystal Tabor; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Patricia McDaniel and Cheryl Melick. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Monte to the North Fork Athletic Boosters, 312 Maple Ave., Utica, Ohio 43080. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the USW Hall (formerly the GMP Hall), 350 Hudson Avenue, Newark, Ohio 43055, on Sunday April 8th 2018 from 2-4:30 pm.
