A funeral service for Charles “Sonny” McDaniel will be held 11 AM Friday, August 11, 2023, at Lighthouse Memorial Church 2600 Walnut Rd. Rt. 79, Millersport, Ohio 43046. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM Thursday at Hoskinson Funeral Home in Kirkersville, Ohio. Burial 11:30 Monday, August 14, 2023, at Forest Lawn Cemetery 5600 E. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43213. Charles F. “Sonny” McDaniel, age 89 of Hebron passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Charlie was born September 30, 1933, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Charles E. and Addie E. (May) McDaniel. Charlie was a graduate of Gahanna High School and then joined the U.S. Army, being stationed in Germany. He served as a lifeguard in Berlin. He was a member of Lighthouse Memorial Church. Charlie was a musician and played guitar throughout his life, including church. He was a true outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. Charlie was an avid collector of Hull Pottery. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Marian (Arledge) McDaniel. Charlie is survived by his wife of 13 years, Nancy R. (Blake) McDaniel; children, Lisa (Russ Pinion) McDaniel, Tim (Katie) McDaniel, Denise (David) Sammons, Cheri (Jim) Deering, Cindy Davis; grandchildren, Alyssa, Brenna, September (Ryan), Landon, Alyssa, Jacob, Savanna, Joseph, Kristi and Dani and 6 great grandchildren.
