A memorial visitation, celebrating the life of Charles R. Moore, 83, of Newark, will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, 179 Granville Street, Newark. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, masks must be worn inside the funeral home and for your protection, a maximum of 35 guests will be allowed inside at one time. Please practice social distancing. Charles was born in Pomeroy, Ohio on October 11, 1937 to the late Lloyd and Effie (Hinds) Moore. He passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital on March 27, 2021. Charles proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Prior to retirement, he was a machinist at Rockwell International for over 37 years. Charles was a Jehovah’s Witness by faith. He enjoyed woodworking, bowling and fishing, but most important was the time he spent with his loving family, especially with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Barbara A. (Neidig) Moore, whom he married April 4, 1958; sons, Wayne (Becky) Moore, Jeffrey (Laura) Moore and Monte Moore; brother, Jerry Moore; sister, Janice Moore; grandchildren, Jon (Jill), Brian (Olivia), Renee, Bret (Amber), Brandon, Jenny (Jacob) and Nathan; 11 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Lloyd Allen Moore; daughters, Vicky and Cindy Moore; brother, Timothy Moore; sister, Ruth Ann Paynter; and daughter-in-law, Lisa Moore. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Charles to the Licking County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
