Charles Steve Patterson

Funeral services, celebrating the life of Charles Steven “Steve” Patterson, 75, of Jacksontown, will be held on Tuesday evening, March 26, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Thornville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Brian Harkness as celebrant. The family will receive friends from 4-6:00 p.m. immediately preceding the services at the funeral home, 56 S. Main Street in Thornville.

Steve passed away on March 20, 2024 at his home following a brief illness. He was born August 4, 1948 in East Fultonham, Ohio the son of the late Melvin A. and Betty J. (Jones) Patterson. He attended Maysville local schools, worked at Columbia Cement Works in East Fultonham from 1974 until 1990, when he started working for Licking Township in Jacksontown for over 26 years. He was also a volunteer for the Licking Twp. Fire Company as a Firefighter and an EMT for 30 years.  Steve enjoyed playing the drums, woodworking, tinkering in the garage, camping and fishing and playing poker.

He is survived by his loving family: son Shane Patterson, daughters Bonnie (Rob) Miller, Kim (Bob Shepherd) Brown, Amber (Rusty) Bowers, his brother Ted Patterson, and sisters Penny Boyer, Susie (Clyde) Campbell, Darlene Garrett; his grandchildren Dustin and Rebecca Price, Hallie and Gabe Law, Nick (Ashley) Cody (Elizabeth) Garrett, Morgan and Colton Miller; his great grandchildren Jacie, Noah and Corbin Garrett; many nieces and nephews; brother and sister in law Der (Bonnie) Fyffe and sister in law Gwen Hannigan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca Patterson on Feb 11, 2024; his sons Tony Luckeydoo, Kenneth Corder and Thomas Law; his grandson Jacob Corder; his brothers Kenny, James, Bill, Mark Patterson, his sisters Patsy Gordon and Pam Beall; sister and brother-in-law Nancy (Mike) Eisel; brother-in-law Thomas Hannigan; in-laws Betty and Lloyd Fyffe.

The family prefers that memorial contributions be directed in his memory to FairHoPe Hospice, 282 Sells Rd, Lancaster, Ohio 43130. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
