Charles R. Atwood

A memorial service celebrating the life of Charles Chuck R. Atwood, age 85, of Columbus, will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Thornville home of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Doug Lynn officiating.Chuck was born on January 5, 1931 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Charles W. and Emma (Thomas) Atwood.He passed away on October 15, 2016 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.Chuck proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves and the Air National Guard.Prior to retirement, Chuck worked over 20 years with Honeywell Security.He was a proud member of the National Rifle Association and was a gun and sword enthusiast.Survivors include one daughter, Joanna Atwood; one niece, Sharon Sue (Chet) Ervin; special friend,Mark Helserand numerous great nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his significant other, Betty McKnite; one sister, Margie Weik; and one niece, Patricia Keller.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Chuck to the National Rifle Association.Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Chuck and his family.
