Charles Thomas Kozak, age 77, of Newark, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at his home.Charles was born June 1, 1937 in Manhattan, New York. A veteran of the United States Air Force, Charles faithfully served his country during Vietnam and was a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal. He retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service where he had been a radio mechanic. He was also a retired electrician.He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Cyndi Kozak of Newark.He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene (Harrison) Kozak, on October 25, 2005.At his request, there will be no service or calling hours observed. Private inurnment will take place at a later date at Wilson Cemetery.Carl and Cyndi request that contributions in memory of Charles be sent to Hospice of Central Ohio for the Selma Markowitz Care Center, PO Box 430, Newark, OH 43058.Special thanks to Hospice of Central Ohio and especially to Danielle and Pat, caregivers to Charles during his illness.
