Charles W. "Chuck" "Mad Dog" Davis

A funeral service celebrating the life of Charles W. “Chuck” “Mad Dog” Davis, 72 of Newark, will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Smith Chapel Cemetery, with military honors being observed by the Licking County Veteran's Alliance. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Chuck was born in Newark, Ohio on December 5, 1951 to Charles R. Davis, who survives and the late Genevieve (Small) Wolfe. He passed away at Riverside Methodist Hospital on February 4, 2024. Prior to retirement, Chuck worked for Wheeler Pipe Threading, worked construction and was a semi-truck driver for many decades. He enjoyed stock car racing, coon hunting and was a horse trainer. In addition to his father, he is survived by his sons, Kevin (Stephanie) Davis and Randy Davis; grandchildren, Kavin Davis, Krissy Hughes and Tyler Davis; step grandchildren, Dylan Shannon and Devin Shannon; sisters, Karen A. (David) Wolfe and Kathy McConnell; former wife, Brenda Davis; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Loretta Nicole Davis. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Chuck to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Chuck and his family.
