Charles W. "Chuck" Wilhelm, Sr.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Charles W. “Chuck” Wilhelm, Sr., 77, of Newark, will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, with Pastor Wes Humble officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens, with military honors observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, on Thursday, February 22nd, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Chuck was born in Coshocton, Ohio on November 30, 1946 to the late Paul and Flora Wilhelm. He passed away on February 16, 2024 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. After graduating from Roscoe High School, Chuck proudly served his country as a Sergeant First Class in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Prior to retirement, he was the owner/operator of Wilhelm Remodeling and Construction for over 50 years. He enjoyed bowling, traveling with his wife to 49 different states, playing cards and motorcycling, where he was a former member of the Gold Wing Association. Chuck loved spending time with his family and friends, and will be missed by everyone that knew him. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Janice E. (Pape) Wilhelm, whom he married December 18, 1965; son and daughter-in-law, Charles W. Jr. and Kimberly Wilhelm; grandchildren, Abigail (Matthew) Giffin and Chandler (Macy) Wilhelm; brother-in-law, Mark (Eunice) Pape; sisters-in-law, Jane (Dave) Leopold and Mary Pape; and many friends.
