A funeral service celebrating the life of Clarence “Woody” McLaughlin, 88, of Newark, will be held on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, with Martina and Ron Bussiere officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery with military honors observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, on Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Woody proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Prior to retirement, he was an engineer for over 30 years. Woody enjoyed reading, cooking, taking rides in the country, writing and especially loved spending time with his family and dogs. He was an ordained minister and loved spreading the word of God. Survivors include his children, Craig (Pat) McLaughlin, Dian (Michael) Delph, Shannon (Jonathan) Martinez and Stephen (Danielle) McLaughlin; very special friend, Nan Thiel; siblings, Betty Lee, Charles McLaughlin, Carolyn (Tom) Morris, R.L. (Theresa) McLaughlin, Debbie Looney and Lynn Walker; step-children, Leslie (Aaron) McCreary, Gary Rowe and Dana (Kevin) Orbaker; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Dorothy Corbin; 2nd wife, Ann (Slokavich) McLaughlin; son, Jeffrey McLaughlin; and numerous brothers and sisters.
