Clark William Moore

A memorial gathering celebrating the life of Clark William Moore, age 61, of Newark, will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, February 21, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home.

Clark was born March 12, 1963 in Newark, Ohio. He passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio) following a brief illness.

Clark was employed by Holophane for several years and later owned and operated Walters Roofing. An avid fan of the Chicago Bears and The Ohio State Buckeyes, Clark also enjoyed hunting and fishing and working on cars with his father. He loved music, especially that of Van Halen and Elvis. Clark will be remembered as never knowing a stranger.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joellen Kristine (Simpson) Moore, whom he married June 28, 2009; son, Clark Moore (Christina Martin); daughter, Cierra Moore; daughter/granddaughter, Sterling Sewards; step-son, Michael Simpson; 15 grandchildren; father, Jerry William Moore; sister, Cindy (Jeff) Victor; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; mother-in-law, Mary Simpson; father-in-law, Ron (Beci) Simpson; brother-in-law, David Simpson; and special friends, Chuck and Lisa Decker and Buz and Rhonda Wolfe.

He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Carol (Bice) Paynter and James Paynter; daughter, Mackenzie Moore; step-daughter, Melanie Bucher; and brother, Jerry D. Moore.
