Claude C. Crist, Jr.

Claude C. Crist, Jr., age 88, of Newark, passed away on June 23, 2017 at Newark Hills Health and Rehab Center. He was born in Newark, Ohio on April 3, 1929 to the late Claude C. Sr. and Viola (Weakley) Crist. Private graveside services will be held for the family. Claude proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Prior to retirement, he was an electronic technician for 30 years with the Newark Air Force Base, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Hebron United Methodist Church, was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan and enjoyed the National Hot Rod Association. Survivors include his children, Charlene M. (John) Noblick, David A. Crist, Larry D. Crist and Mark D. (Tara) Crist; brother, Frederick Crist; 10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite (Boomer) Crist; brother, Frank Crist; and sister, Vera Lepinsky. The family would like to thank Hospice of Central Ohio, especially his nurse, Brook; Aide, Stephanie; and all of the dedicated workers, for the excellent care that was provided Claude and his family. The family would also like to thank Newark Hills Health and Rehab Center for their dedication while in respite care.
