Clifford Rutland Cabiness

A Homegoing Service, celebrating the life of Clifford Rutland Cabiness, 67, of Newark, will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, with Reverend Randall Williams officiating. Military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Visitation will be held at the church, 383 Washington Street, Newark, on Friday, two hours prior to the funeral service, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Clifford was born in Newark, Ohio on March 22, 1957 to the late Clarence and Queen (Thompson) Cabiness. He passed away at Mt. Carmel East on August 11, 2024. Clifford proudly served his country in the United States Army. Prior to retirement, he worked for the Local Laborers Union #432 in Columbus for many years. He enjoyed fishing and cooking but most important was the time he spent with his loving family, especially cookouts, where he was known for his BBQ and grilling skills. He will be missed by everyone that knew him. Survivors include his children, Donta Cabiness, Christopher Cabiness, Domnique Agin Cabiness and Brandon Agin Cabiness; significant other, Lori Laughman; brother, Ruben Cabiness; sisters, Loveta Parks and Kathleen Cabiness, and her companion, William Dansby; grandchildren, Natalah (Makayla), Bravonta, Dawnta, Anika, Marquice Jr., Aria, Kamden, Brillion, London, Adonis, Avianna and Dream; great grandchildren, Aayana and Tiona; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Cabiness; sisters, Brenda Campbell and Paulette Evans; and brother, Clarence Cabiness Jr. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Clifford and the Cabiness family.
