A funeral service celebrating the life of Cloyd Allen Junior Mohler, age 80, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 3, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Sowards and Pastor Ron Sowards officiating and Sue Sowards as soloist. Burial will take place in Newark Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark.Junior was born August 25, 1936 in Newark, Ohio to the late Ernest Allen and Carrie Victoria (Wells) Mohler. He passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio).Junior was employed in heating and air conditioning for over 50 years with Luikart, Hancock Heating and Cooling and Atlas Butler. Junior attended Crossroads Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and playing Solitaire and was an avid OSU Buckeye fan. Junior was well-loved and never met a stranger. He had a special gift of bringing smiles to peoples faces.He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Angie (Stevens) Mohler, whom he married February 14, 1990; daughters, Victoria (Melvin) Jones and June Ervin, all of Newark; sons, Joe Jones (fiance Rakia Hommon) and Darrin Jones, all of Newark; grandchildren, Jeremiah, Tiffany and Jonathan Jones, Sarah Mohler, William Ervin and Adrienne and Ella Jones; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Irene Lottie (Robert) Wetzel, Lois Jean Winbigler and Doris Simon, all of Newark; nieces and nephews; and his faithful companions, his dogs, Ginger, Daisy Mae and Kayla.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Penny Ann Mohler; and by two sisters, Bernice Yost and Louise Loper.Special thanks to Juniors caregivers, Rakia Hommon and Leesie Wilkinson.Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Junior and the Mohler family.
