Clyde R. Winegardner

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Clyde R. Winegardner, 79, of Newark, will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Walter Bruah officiating. Burial will follow at Fredonia Cemetery.Clyde was born in Sparta, Ohio on January 15, 1936 to the late Clifton and Kathleen (Atherton) Winegardner. He passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital on October 25, 2015 while surrounded by his family.Prior to retirement, Clyde was owner and operator of Winegardner Plastering and Stucco for over 65 years. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Druids in Newark. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards, going to the casino, hunting, woodworking and spending time outdoors. He especially enjoyed spending time with his wife, Gloria and his entire family.Survivors include his loving wife of 17 years, Gloria (Rose) Winegardner, whom he married December 26, 1997; children, Terry Winegardner, Thomas Winegardner, Tobey (Debbie) Winegardner, James Thompson, Tracy (Steve) Gordon, David (Vicky) Lacey and Terry (Mary) Reed; sisters, Louise Roberts, Patsy Rice and Doris Fadley; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his loving dogs, Peanut and Tipper.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by son, Timothy Reed Winegardner; daughter, Theresa Weese; and brother-in-law, Robert Fadley.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Clyde to the American Diabetes Association.
