Connie Jean Moody, a beloved resident of Newark, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 12th, 2025 at the age of 78. Born on Sunday, February 23rd, 1947, in Cambridge, Ohio, Connie devoted her life to her family, community, and country.
Connie was the cherished wife of the late Delbert E. "Butch" Moody. She is survived by her loving children: Wendy (John) Mohler, Terri (Kelly) Ault, Nicki (Dwight) Mayabb, and Delbert (Adrienne) Moody II. Her family extended further to include her dear brothers George (Darlene) Casey, Jeff Casey, and Curtis Casey. Connie was the proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, and she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Merris (Collart) Casey, and her husband of 51 years, Delbert E. "Butch" Moody.
Connie proudly served her country as a member of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. A devoted homemaker, she channeled her love for family into creating a warm and loving home. Connie was an active member of the American Legion Post #85 and the Newark Eagles Lodge. Her passions included sewing, working jigsaw puzzles, canning, gardening, and caring for her beloved dogs and farm animals. Above all, Connie found joy in spoiling her grandchildren.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, March 17th, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, Newark, OH. A funeral service to honor Connie’s life will be held on Tuesday, March 18th, 2025, at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Cory Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Barnes Cemetery, where Military Honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hospice of Central Ohio or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Connie’s warmth, kindness, and loving spirit will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched. Arrangements are under the care of Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service.
