Connie Jean Phillips

Connie Jean Phillips, age 73, of Wellington, Ohio passed away on October 1, 2021 in Newark, Ohio at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio). Connie was born in Elyria, Ohio on April 23, 1948 to the late Leonard Rhoads and Helen Jehlicka. She moved to Wellington in 1976.

Connie was a devoted homemaker, wife, and mother, always placing their needs before her own.

After her three boys reached school age, she worked at LaGrange Electrical Assemblies soldering circuit boards and at Weber Nursing Home in Wellington, cooking for their aging residents.

She had an affinity for genealogy and spent countless hours exploring and “getting lost” looking for that next library, clerical archive, or cemetery across Ohio’s villages, towns, and cities. “Grammy”/“Grandma” loved taking her grandchildren out to the movies, to the park, and the library, and always kept them full of snacks and chocolate shakes.

Left to treasure her memory are her three sons and daughters-in-law, Danny L. and Sherry Phillips, Michael W. and Lisa Phillips, and Dean T. and Melanie Phillips; grandchildren, Danny Jacob, Robby, Ashley, Dean, and Coleton Phillips; and many cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Joe Phillips.
