Craig William Bissel

A graveside service celebrating the life of Craig William Bissel, age 74, of Columbus, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14, at Newark Memorial Gardens with Pastor Wes Humble officiating.

Craig was born February 7, 1948 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Licking Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

Craig was a veteran of the United States Army and faithfully served his country during Vietnam. He retired from the Coca Cola Company where he had been a truck driver for 47 years. Craig enjoyed fishing and loved animals He was a member of the American Legion Post #430 in Bexley.

He is survived by two children, Chris (Tina) Bissel of Thornville and Michelle (Andrew) Campbell of Centerburg; his father, Norman Bissel, Sr. of Oceana, Virginia; grandchildren, Hannah and Bailey Campbell, McKinzie (Evan) Ashburn, Pacie Hunter, and Hayden Bissel; a great-granddaughter, Lydia, who is on the way; brother, Randy Bissel of Norfolk, Virginia; and lifelong friend, Steve Elder of Bremen.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy (Altizer) Bissel, on September 5, 2017; and by his mother, Ramona Bissel; and three brothers, including Michael and Norman, Jr.
