Craig Harvey "Woody" Peck, Jr.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Craig Harvey “Woody” Peck, Jr., age 83, of Newark, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 29, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Newark Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, January 28, as well as from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.

Craig was born December 9, 1938 in Johnstown, Ohio to the late Craig Harvey Peck, Sr. and the late Alice Elizabeth (Hanna) Peck. He passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Craig retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas following 28 years of service. He served in the Ohio National Guard and the United States Army Reserves. An outdoorsman, Craig enjoyed hunting and camping. He also enjoyed working on automobiles, playing softball, coaching Bitty League, and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and NASCAR. Craig was a devoted husband and father who loved his family dearly and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a true and loyal friend.

Craig is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Nancy Joanne (Spence) Peck, whom he married August 17, 1958; three children, Michael C. Peck, Christina (John) Arbogast and Chad R. (Jennifer) Peck; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Lawrence “Pete” Peck; sisters, Rhoda (LeVerne) Nicholas, Patricia (John) Thompson, and Linda (Dave) Haught; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert E. and Sue Peck; a brother, John; sisters, Barb, Mary, Liz, Connie, and Jo Anne.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
