A funeral service, celebrating the life of Cynthia Ann Ours Stemm, 62, of Hebron, will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2015 in the chapel of The Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral & Cremation Service. Family inurnment services will follow on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 in the Kirkersville Cemetery.Cindy died peacefully on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at home, with her family at her side. She was born in Lancaster, on January 8, 1953, the daughter of Jesse and Pauline (Kay) Ours. She was a graduate of Lakewood H.S., class of 1971, and had worked her entire career at Nationwide Insurance in Columbus, for over 45 years.She was a member of the Heath Church of Christ, Hebron Assembly of Rainbow for Girls, Eagon Chapter #123, Order of Eastern Star and Hebron Lions Club, where she was currently secretary.Cindy was a kind, friendly person who never met a stranger and went out of her way to make others feel special. She worked tirelessly for the Hebron Lions club, and for District 13-K of Ohio Lions International. She loved the music of Glen Campbell and anything that was purple. In her honor, wear purple to the services on Monday.In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband Scott Stemm, whom she married on May 23, 1998, son Travis (Elizabeth) McCullough, step-son Scotty Stemm, sister Daette (Ed) Petrey, sister-in-law Ruth Helman-Dollar, brother-in-law Vic (Bobbi) Wise, grandchildren Clayton, Gabriella and Lucus, nephews Lawrence (Katie) and Nehemiah Petrey,Scott's cousin Sheila Shepard,great-niece Makenna; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins; and life-long friend Carol Perkey. Her canine companion, Dot, also survives.The family will receive friends on Monday, July 6, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. until Eastern Star Services at 6:45 p.m., funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, 285. E Main St. in Kirkersville.The family prefers memorials directed to the Gideons International or The Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, PO Box 430, Newark, Ohio 43058.
