Cynthia Kaye Keplar

A funeral service celebrating the life of Cynthia Kaye “Cindy” Keplar, age 63, of Newark, will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Deacon Lee Gantt officiating. Burial will take place in Newark Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.

Cindy was born November 7, 1955 in Marion, Ohio. She passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Cindy was a 1975 graduate of Utica High School and was a homemaker. She enjoyed collecting unicorns and angels, watching soap operas and loved cardinals and snowmen. She was an excellent cook and her family especially loved her mashed potatoes, lasagna, deviled eggs and biscuits, just to name a few of the wonderful things she made.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Carl D. Keplar III, whom she married June 14, 1986; three children, Brian (Jackie) Brewer of Newark, Brad Bonham (Stephanie Smith) of Apple Valley and Betsy (Charles) Cooper of Newark; father, Harold Elmer Brewer of Lima; grandchildren, Tyler Sullivan, Tritney Brewer, Stephanie Bonham, Gabby Carver, Harmony Scott, Austin Carver, Katelyn Brewer, Charlie Cooper, Madison Bonham, Tamara Boecker and Ajay Cooper; great-grandchildren, Jamie, Avery, Jayleigh, Nicole, Kaiden, Grayson, Kennley and Isabella; brothers, Billy (Charlotte) Brewer of Columbus and Bobby (Dodi) Brewer of Marysville; sisters, Teresa (John) Hill of Lima and Sheryl Landis (Terry Scott) of Mount Vernon; father-in-law, Carl D. Keplar, Jr. of Milton, FL; sister-in-law, Teresa Keplar of Columbus; brother-in-law, Scott Keplar of Milton, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Glenna Marie (Dawson) Schoffner; step-mother, Marilyn Brewer; mother-in-law, Pat Keplar; and her beloved cats, Princess and Precious.
