A home going service, celebrating the life of Cynthia Sue Shackleford, age 66, of Westerville, formerly of Newark, will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 12:00 p.m., with Rev. Dr. Michael A. Noble officiating. Burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens.Cynthia was born in Newark, Ohio on July 1, 1948 to the late Samuel Roan and Geneva Ella (White) Shackleford. She went to be with the Lord on February 13, 2015 at St. Anns Hospital in Westerville.Cynthia graduated from Newark High School in 1967. Prior to retirement, she worked for State Farm for over 35 years in the claims and underwriting fire division. She was a member of Trinity AME Church in Newark. Cynthia enjoyed the finer things in life, and was known as a Fashion Diva. She enjoyed shopping, dancing, sewing, traveling, visiting lakes and the ocean, making ceramics, dining out, and especially enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She had exquisite taste, appreciated the beauty of Gods creation, loved her Lord and her family. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother.Survivors include one daughter, Yolonda (James) Slaughter of Whitehall; granddaughter, Jakeera G.J. (Marquavis) Mangum of Columbus.
