A Funeral service, celebrating the life of Dale Eugene Forsythe, 83, of Harbor Hills, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 15, 2012 in the chapel of the Kirkersville home of The HOSKINSON funeral and cremation service with Rev. Fr. William Ferguson as officiant. Burial, with full military honors will follow at the St Josephs cemetery in St. Louisville.Dale died Tuesday, September 11, 2012 in Evanston, Illinois.He was born March 28, 1929, in Thornville, the son of the late John and Lora B. (Weingardner) Forsythe. He was a graduate of Thornville H.S., class of 1946, served honorably in the US Army during the Korean conflict and was retired from the American Electric Power after 37 of service.On February 14, 1953 he married Mary Janice Frischen, and they have celebrated 59 years together.He was a member of the Hebron Post of the American Legion, and the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at Buckeye Lake.He loved to travel, considered himself to be a part-time farmer and enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandkids.He is survived by his loving family: wife Janice of Heath, Son Scott (Sandra) of Lewis Center, daughter Kari (Will) Clarke of Wilmette, Illinois; grandchildren Ashley, Matt, Ronan,J.P. and Tatum; brother Wayne Forsythe and sister Jean Ann Bashore; along with several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Bob and Paul and his sister Janet.The family will receive friends on Friday, September 14, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home, 285 E Main St in Kirkersville.An on-line guest register and video tribute to Dale are available at www.hoskinsonfuneral.com.
