Dana Eugene "Jack" Shrider

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Dana Eugene Jack Shrider, 82, of Thornville, will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, June 29th, 2015, with Pastor Beth Bateson as celebrant. Burial will follow at Lutheran Reformed Cemetery.Jack died peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2015, in Newark, following an extended illness. He was born in Glenford on June 18, 1933, the son of the late Eugene Jack and Lena (Johnson) Shrider. He was a 1951 graduate of Glenford H.S., and had worked for Tectum in Newark for over 40 years.He was an active member of the Thornville community, he served on the Thornville town council for over 30 years; along with Grace Lutheran Church, and was an active Sheridan Sports fan. He also enjoyed collecting antiques.He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, whom he married in 1952, daughter Nancy Brandon, grandchildren Brittany, Bo, Brienna and Bridgett; great-grandchildren Simon, Aden, Bosten, Eelin.Family will receive friends on Monday June 29, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at Noon at the funeral home, 56 South Main Street in Thornville.The family prefers that memorials be directed to the foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, PO Box 430, Newark, Ohio 43058.
