Daniel Joseph Ball, cherished husband, devoted father, grandfather, and proud U.S. Air Force veteran, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 25th, 2025, at his residence in Newark, Ohio. Born on May 15th, 1953, in Morganfield, Kentucky, to the late Arthur and Ethel Mae (Carpenter) Ball, Daniel lived a life marked by love, service, and dedication.

Daniel was the beloved husband of Teresa L. (Cooper) Ball, with whom he shared 45 wonderful years of marriage since their union on December 21, 1979. He was a devoted father to his daughters, Ann (Paul) Fuller and Christina (Adam) Smith, and his son, Marquise Ball. He was preceded in death by his son, Dominic Ball. Daniel's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Larissa, Rhianna, Sheriena, Maggie, and Daniel, and his great-grandchildren, Mason, Oren, Nico, Jaylen, and Rocky. He is also survived by his brothers, Arthur (Ruth) Ball and Donald (Sue) Ball, and nieces and nephews, Mark, Michael, Becky, Brian, Kevin, and Tammy, alongside many dear friends.

Daniel answered the call of duty with unwavering patriotism, serving 18 years as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. His service included tours during the Vietnam War and Desert Storm. His commitment to his country and his mastery in his occupation earned him the respect and admiration of many.

Beyond his military career, Daniel found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a passion for classic black and white movies, loved listening to music, and enjoyed playing the slot machines in Las Vegas. His talent for playing the drums brought rhythm and harmony to his life and those around him. Known affectionately as the "Memory Keeper," Daniel held the stories and experiences of his family close to his heart, ensuring they would be cherished for generations.

A graveside service will be held at Newark Memorial Gardens in Newark, OH, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 1:00 pm, where family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate Daniel's remarkable life. Military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veteran's Alliance.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Daniel’s memory to Disabled American Veterans, an organization close to his heart.

Daniel Joseph Ball will be remembered for his selfless service, his devotion to his family, and his incredible warmth and kindness. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the memories of all who knew him.
