Daniel "Dan" Harrison Crawford Sr.

Daniel Harrison “Dan” Crawford Sr., 83, of Newark, died Thursday, May 5, 2022, at his home. He was born April 10, 1939, in Newark to the late Harrison and Viva Dell (Bevard) Crawford. Dan was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked at Roper, Phelps Dodge, Walker Manufacturing, and retired from R&R Pipeline after more than 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, shooting pool, riding his motorcycle, and working on cars. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Shirley (Agin) Crawford; three sons, Daniel H. Crawford Jr., Brian S. Crawford, and Terrance W. Crawford; six grandchildren, Daniel III, Melissa (Jack), April, Michael, Megan, and Kevin (Bianca); 16 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his six siblings, Harry (Phyllis) Crawford, Martha (Henry) Ward, Robert Crawford, William Crawford, Ruth (Chalmer) Styers, and Sandra Pasco; and one great grandson. Memorial contributions may be made in Dan’s memory to Nationwide Children’s Hospital at www.give.nationwidechildrens.org Visitation will be Tuesday from 11-1pm at the Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville St., Newark, where the funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Gary LaRue officiating. Burial will follow the service at Newark Memorial Gardens where military honors will be presented by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
