Daniel R. Brison, Sr., 65, of Thornville, went to meet His Savior unexpectedly Sunday, June 1, 2014 , after a period of illness. He was born May 3, 1949 in Millersport, Ohio, son of the late Charles and Myrtle (Prince) Brison. Dan was a lifelong resident of Thornville, a Sheridan High football player and a 1967 Graduate. He worked at Continental Midland as a Tool & Die Repairman for most of his adult life. He was a strong hard working yet simple living man who loved God, his family, football, hunting and fishing.He married his bride Patty E. Brode on October 26, 1974; They have been together for 42 years during which they raised 6 children, Daniel R. Jr. (Lori) of Sioux Falls, SD; Chaun P. (Heather) of Sioux Falls, SD, Krystal Dawn (Carnith Buddy Boring) of Chillicothe, Ohio; Carrie Jo (Ryan Devereaux) of Thornville; April D. (Tim Gierhart) of Lancaster & Jeremy D. (Gail Walker) of Thornville. 4 Brothers Harold (Betty), Jerry (Debbie), Mike (Tena), Ed (Pam) and 2 Sisters Kay (Jack Scmidt); Jane (Mike Hedges), 14 Grandchildren which were the light of his life (Ethan, Gavin, Collin, Kelsey, Rogan, Rylie, Justin, Lance, Autumn, Darius, Liana, Adelyn, Tyler and Briar), 9 great- grandchildren (Savannah, Elishja, Emberlynn, Liam, Minowa, Aralyn, Arianna, Alexander and Damon) a bundle of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews, his lifelong best friends Donnie Leavitt and Larry Winegardner, and his canine companion Lilly Bug/Pigdog; All of which were so special to him.He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother; Charles H. and Myrtle (Prince) Brison and an infant baby brother, William L. Brison.A funeral service, celebrating Dans life, will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Thornville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, 56 S. Main St., Burial will follow in Millersport Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. and again on Thursday, one hour prior to service from 10 to 11 a.m.The funeral services will be conducted by Dans son-in-law and daughter; Captains Carnith & Krystal Boring, Pastors of The Salvation Army.Memorial contributions in Dans memory may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 15120, Chicago, IL 60693.
