Daniel Ramsey Jr.

A funeral service for Daniel Ramsey Jr. of Thornville, will be held at 5:00 pm on Monday, January 19, 2015, in the chapel of the Thornville home of HOSKINSON Funeral & Cremation Service, with Pastor Larry Grundy officiating. Dan died Tuesday, January 13, 2015 in Lancaster, following a brief illness. He was born in London, Ohio on March 30, 1948, the son of the late Daniel Fred Ramsey Sr. and Margaret Jean (Lindsey) Ramsey of Washington Court House. Daniel served honorably in the US Army. He retired after working several different jobs, lastly with the Railroad industry. He enjoyed NASCAR (#48 Jimmie Johnson), watching game shows on TV, morning coffee with John and Butter Pecan Ice Cream. He was a member of the North American Fishing Club. He is survived by his loving family: wife Mona, daughter Charity (Thomas Harvey), brothers Bill and Harry Bugs (Melody) Ramsey, sisters Deanna Ramsey and Kelly Lynn LaSollette, his two grandchildren Skyler Andrew Chapman White and Mya Lynn White. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son Daniel Ramsey II in 1977, sister Cyndi Shay, brother Ricky Lee Ramsey and his canine companion Sassy. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until time of the services at 5:00 pm at the funeral home, 56. S Main St. in Thornville. Memorials may be directed to Wounded Warriors in his memory.
