Daniel L. Tener, age 59 of Thornville, entered into eternal life Tuesday, February 1, 2022. He was born January 13, 1963 in Lancaster to the late Donald L. and Shirley A. (Myers) Tener. He was a graduate of Liberty Union High School, class of 1981; where he played baseball. Dan served honorably in the US Air Force, and was a sales representative for Schaeffer’s Specialized Lubricants, for the past 11 years. Dan was an avid outdoorsman, with a quick-witted sense of humor, who enjoying fishing and hiking. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and teaching his grandchildren survivalist skills. He was a former member of the Thornville American Legion and Amvets. He coached little league baseball, softball and basketball. Dan was a firm believer in the Bible, and believed it is for today from Genesis to Revelations. He sought to live his life aligned to the full word of God. Dan is survived by his loving family: his children Natasha (Michael Pallone) Tener, Jake (Amanda) Tener, Chelsea (Kris) Doss, Abby Tener, his fiancée Nancy Gray, brother Charles Michael (Brenda) Tener, sister Vera Welker; grandchildren Brock, Corbin and Kyndal Price, Graham and Jayce Pallone, Asher and Deklin Tener, Kasen and Gage Doss; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and in-laws. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Janet (Carpenter) in 1997, and brother-in-law Steven Welker. Family and friends may call on Sunday, February 6, 2022, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Thornville home of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, 56 South Main St. in Thornville, where funeral services celebrating his life will follow on Monday morning February 7, at 11:00 am. The family will also receive friends on Monday for one hour prior to the funeral service. Dan will be laid to rest next to his wife Janet in the Lutheran Reformed Cemetery, Thornville with full military honors. The family prefers memorial contributions be directed to the Dan and Janet Carpenter Tener Memorial Scholarship fund, Reflections OCCL (Mother’s Club) c/o Mel Crader, P.O.
