Daniel Toland

Daniel Leroy Toland was born October 23, 1938 in Martins Ferry, Ohio. He served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps, and had attained the rank of Lance Corporal.Preceded in death by his parents Frank W. and Lola Toland and brother Theaker Thomas Toland.He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anna Belle (Davis) whom he married on June 18, 1960; son Randall (Brenda) Toland, of Alpena, Michigan, daughter Lisa (Ray) Mitchell of Pickerington, grandchildren Janis (John) Galarza, Justa, James and Jeffrey Toland; great-grandchildren Lucas and Anyanka Galarza; sister Barbara (Robert)Beveridge of Salineville, andmany nieces and nephews.Daniel was a member of Southeast Lions club for 30+ years and a member of Millersport Lions Club since 2004, receiving the Melvin Jones Fellowship from the Millerport Lions Club.Member of Boy Scouts of America, working with Troop and Pack #195 for over 35 years, where he received the Silver Beaver award, scoutings highest honor for scout masters.Daniel was a long time member of Fairmoor Presbyterian Church, Columbus, where he received the Celtic Cross award for his work with the youth of the church; former member of Millersport United Methodist Church, currently an active member of Outville Presbyterian Church, Outville. He also is a member of Millersport Senior Citizens and a life member of Amvets Post #51 of Thornville.Friends may call on Sunday, November 29, 2015 from 2 until 5 p.m. with Lions memorial services at 4:45 p.m. at the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, 285 E. Main St. in Kirkersville. The family will also receive friends on Monday from 12 Noon until 1:00 p.m. with funeral services, celebrating Daniels Life at 1:00 p.m. with his pastor, the Rev. M. Stephen Merold as celebrant.
