A memorial service celebrating the life of Dara Kay Wimer, age 70, of Heath, will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Don Moshgat officiating.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.
Dara was born October 27, 1953 in Newark, Ohio to the late Jack and Charlotte (Hunter) Revercomb. She passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at her home.
Dara was a 1972 graduate of Northridge High School. She was employed with State Farm Insurance for 18 years and finished her career with Newark City Schools where she was employed for seven years.
Dara was a member of the Wright Memorial Global Methodist Church and the Heath Moundbuilders Kiwanis. She was a volunteer at the Davis Shai House in Heath where she was instrumental in interior painting and artwork prior to the public opening. Dara was very creative and also enjoyed photography.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gary L. Wimer; daughter, Karianne (Wimer) Strout of New Albany; son, Garrett Wimer of Columbus; grandchildren, Storm (Courtney) Strout and Steele (Gabi Layman) Strout; great-grandchildren, Ryatt Strout and Scarlett Strout; sister, Crista of California; sister-in-law, Patty (Tony) Ailabouni of Columbus; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Davey Revercomb.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wright Memorial Global Methodist Church, the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, or to the Licking County Aging Partners Adult Daycare.
