Daris Lee "Mac" Mcclung

October 18, 1935 — December 5, 2015

A graveside service celebrating the life of Daris Lee Mac McClung, age 80, of Newark, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 10, at Highland Cemetery, Glenford. Military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.Mac was born October 19, 1935 in Mt. Nebo, West Virginia to the late Leonard and Maude (Crane) McClung. He passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the home of his daughter, Cheryl. Mac was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas after 42 years of service. He enjoyed building and remodeling houses and working on cars. He loved the pursuit of knowledge, history and learning new things and liked to watch the Discovery and History channels.He is survived by four children, Cheryl Farley of Nashport, Donald McClung of Newark, Darlene (Brian) Pleiman of Covington, Kentucky and Karen (Brian) Charles of Reynoldsburg; grandchildren, Amanda Mandy Farley, Bobbi Jo McClung, Paige Wright, Blake Charles, Megan Pleiman, Brent Charles and Payton Pleiman; two great-grandchildren, Mary Miller and Bentley Pleiman; brother, Larry McClung of Mansfield; sisters, Nancy(Carlos) Pina of Frederick, Maryland and Betty (Jim) Martin of Olympia, Washington; wife of 45 years and mother of his children, Nancy McClung of Orient Hill, West Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dale McClung; brother, Roger McClung; sister, Ruth Persinger; son-in-law, John Farley; and daughter-in-law, Mary McClung.Special thanks to VA Nurse, Linda Roll, and to aide, Misty Withrow, for their excellent care.Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.www.woundedwarriorproject/donateHoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service, Thornville, is honored to care for Mac and his family.
