Darla Jean Mitchell

Graveside Funeral Services, celebrating the life of Darla Jean Mitchell, 55, of Gahanna, Formerly of Thornville, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024, in the Lutheran Reformed Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m.

Darla was born May 26, 1969 in Newark, the daughter of the late Ira and Donna (Friend) Kyle. Darla was a graduate of Sheridan H.S., class of 1987, and worked various jobs in banking operations and also as a retail clerk at Pilot.

Darla adored her pet babies, and also enjoyed fishing and day trips and travel.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her Step-father Jeffrey Mayle and her grandparents Bob and Frieda Friend.

She is survived by her loving husband, Darrell, whom she married on September 10, 1990, her sister-in-law Martha (Larry) Nelson, along with several nieces and nephews her uncles Ronnie (Sheila) Mayle, Michael Jenkins and Aunt Jill Sims; and close friends Stacey, Breanna, Angie, Allen and Marylou; along with  her beloved canine companion Daisy.

The family prefers those memorial contributions be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
