A memorial service celebrating the life of Darlene S. Colley, 75, of Pataskala, Ohio will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Full Armor of God Baptist Church, 14454 East Broad Street, Reynoldsburg, Ohio, with Pastor Joe Loomis officiating. Friends may call at the church on Saturday, December 14th one hour prior to the memorial service, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Darlene passed away while surrounded by family on Saturday, November 23, 2024. Born in Athens County, Ohio, Darlene had several jobs in her lifetime. She was a school bus driver for Trimble Local and Licking Heights Schools; prepared meals for Burr Oak Lodge; maintained and sanitized machines for Kroger bakery and enjoyed meeting people and caring for their laundry needs at Jett Wash Laundromat, to name a few. Darlene loved Elvis, horses, Indian memorabilia, was a huge Donald Trump fan, and rang her cowbell when Ohio State Football would make a touchdown. Darlene adored her grand and great grandkids, as her life revolved around them as she enjoyed being involved in the activities they were in. She was their biggest cheerleader. Darlene is survived by her two children, Peggy Martin (Ed) Schmauch of Kirkersville and Scott (Anitra) Martin of Glouster; five grandchildren, Casey (Desiree) Martin of Corning, Derek (Chiane Davis) Schmauch of Kirkersville, Damon Schmauch of Kirkersville; Whitney (Troy Benedict) Martin of Logan and Stephanie (Chris Smyers) Martin of Logan; great grandchildren, Brayden Joy of Logan, Weston, Noah and Clayton Benedict of Logan, Maci Geil of Logan, Demi and Cali Martin of Corning, Everlee Schmauch of Kirkersville and Madelyn Smyers of Logan; brother, Robert (Teresa) Showalter of Logan; sister, Georgia Davis of Glouster; many nieces, nephews, cousins; longtime friend, Patty Power of Reynoldsburg; special neighbors, Cathy Kerns, David Bray, Kathy Demint, Juelie Gubbings and Jerry Keys. She was preceded in by her mother, Betty Colley; and a brother, Joey Showalter. The Kirkersville chapel of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Darlene and her family.
