Darlene Mae Lowe

A memorial service for Darlene Mae Lowe, age 83, of Newark, will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, at the Newark Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 701 Linnville Road, Heath, with Pastor Tom Hughes officiating.Darlene was born February 8, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Clarence and Aileen (Cleary) Gottschalk. She passed away on Monday, November 9, 2015 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio).Darlene had been employed for nearly 40 years with St. Helena Medical Center in Deer Park, California as the manager of financial services, retiring in 2008. She was a member of the Newark Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Heath and was a volunteer with the Cascade Beagle Rescue. Darlene enjoyed flower gardening, ballroom dancing, shopping and crossword puzzle books.She is survived by three children, Linda (Leon) Brown of Newark, Denise Lowe of Portland, Oregon and Donald Lowe of Loma Linda, California; two grandsons, Marvin Lowe III of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Matthew Brown of Newark; several nephews and great-nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Marvin Lowe, Jr.; two sisters, Marilyn Gohr and Lois Podwojski; and a brother, Raymond Gottschalk.Memorial contributions may be made to The Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio or to the Cascade Beagle Rescue.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Darlene and her family.
