Darlene (Warfel) Rhoads Garvin

Darlene (Warfel) Rhoads Garvin, age 91, of Newark, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016 at the Inn at SharonBrooke. She was born July 15, 1925 in Licking County, Ohio to the late Bernard and Blanch (Conger) Warfel.Darlene was a 1943 graduate of Hanover High School. She retired in 1971 from Newark Stove (Roper Corp.) where she had been employed for over 27 years. She was a member of Hanover Presbyterian Church. Her greatest joy in life was spending time and laughing with her family and friends.She is survived by a sister, Mary Askins of Jacksonville, Florida; two nieces and two nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles E. Rhoads, Sr. and Robert Garvin; a brother, George Warfel; and a sister, Martha Ryan.A private graveside service was held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016.In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, please remember Darlene with a contribution to a Hospice of your choice.Darlenes family would like to thank all of her friends as well as the staff at the Inn at Sharon Brooke for their love, their laughter and their care and support.
