Funeral services, celebrating the life of Darwin L. Long, 83, of Pataskala, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2018, in the chapel of The Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Bob Fry as celebrant. Burial with full military honors will follow in Pataskala Cemetery. Darwin passed away peacefully on February 14, 2018, with his family at his side. He was born March 4, 1934, in Mifflintown, Pa., the son of the late Darwin and Mary (Flickinger) Long. He served honorably in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict, and was a painting contractor for many years, and a minister of the gospel. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, spending time with his family and his canine companion Lacy. He is survived by his children: Debra (David) Fry of Pataskala, Kathy (Bob) Fry of Delaware, Michael (Dawn) Long and Timothy (Lori) Long of Pataskala; his 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Opal Long, granddaughter Aubrey Long and great-grandson Braxton Long. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 21, 2018,from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the HOSKINSON Funeral home, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville.
