"Dave" David Alan Davis

A funeral service celebrating the life of David Alan “Dave” Davis, age 60, of Newark, will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 8, at Water’s Edge Assembly of God Church, 2249 Cherry Valley Road SE in Newark with Pastor Rusty Foley officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Dave was born August 30, 1961 in Lima, Ohio to the late Samuel Alvin and Martha Ann (Fuerst) Davis. He passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021 at Licking Memorial Hospital.

Dave was employed with NAPA Auto Parts in Byesville for 26 years and was most recently employed with Fink’s Harley-Davidson in Zanesville for four years. Dave attended Water’s Edge Assembly of God where he was a member of the Praise Band. He enjoyed playing the guitar and was in multiple bands over the years. Dave was an avid motorcyclist. He was an OSU Buckeye on Saturdays and a Pittsburgh Steeler on Sundays. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 26 years, June Louise (Long) Davis, whom he married October 18, 1995; five children, Angie Davis of Massillon, Theresa (Tripp) Stuckey of Enterprise, Alabama, Heidi (Michael) Pershing of New Philadelphia, Jody Winland of Philo and Scott Paulun of Coshocton; grandchildren, Briana, Pierce, Maverick, Bren, Josh, Ayden, Rilee, Tori, Tommy, Chase, Jenna and Jessie; brother, Charles “Chuck” (Susan) Davis of Orville; four nephews, Connor, Samuel, Jacob, and Cole; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and several close friends who meant a lot to him.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Water’s Edge Assembly of God Church.
