David Anthony Cable, 75, ended his battle with cancer at his home in Buckeye Lake on June 14, 2016. He was born January 10, 1941, to Bernard and Phyllis Cable in Columbus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and a brother Irwin. He is survived by his wife Scharlotte Cable, sons David (Martha) and Donald Cable. He is also survived by his step children Andrea Saxour, Clayton (Joanne) Saxour and Michael (Girlie) Saxour. He is survived by 10 grandchildren, David (Jessica), Drew, Dean (Jocie), Daphne, and Vilanie Cable and Tyler, Tristan, Skyler, Brandon and Chase Saxour. In addition, there are 3 great-grandchildren, Gunner, Granger and Trinity. He is also survived by his brother Jerry (Lois) Cable. David graduated from Jacksontown H.S. in 1958 where he was known for his ability to play basketball and received many honors. He enlisted in the US Army serving for three years in Germany as a MP and was able to play basketball for the Army before his honorable discharge. He became a food broker for over 20 years, was employed by Eddie Bauer, and then took over the Red Cables Used Cars in Buckeye Lake in 1994. He was the owner/operator for over 20 years. He loved his car lot, the many friends he made there, and making the deal. He lived most of his life in Licking County and for the past 22 years at Buckeye Lake, where he has made many friends and acquaintances over the years. Some of his favorite things were fishing, boating, family gatherings, golf and time with his friends and neighbors. He very much enjoyed relaxing on the porch and watching the boaters and fishermen passing by the house. He always had a story to spin for anyone with an ear for listening that happened by for a visit. He will be missed by all those who knew him well. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2016 in the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery, near Jacksontown. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, June 17, from 6 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, 285 East Main St. in Kirkersville.
