David Charles Kerns

David Charles Kerns, 76, of Newark, passed away at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio, on February 17, 2023. He was born in Haydenville, Ohio on December 29, 1946 to the late Robert and Rebecca (Winchell) Kerns. David was a member of the Ancient Order of Druids in Newark. He was a roofer most of his life and enjoyed puzzles, listening to Elvis and country music, watching westerns, working on cars, tinkering around the house and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his children, Kathy (Brad) Prince, Timothy Kerns and David Kerns; sister, Niedy Pace; brother, Charlie Kerns; grandchildren, Patrick, Jordan and Amber; nephews, Donnie and Cameron; niece, Courtnee; great nephew, J.D.; and many other family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis A. Kerns; son, Bobby; sister, Anna Mae; nephew, Danny; and great nephew, Hunter. David will be buried at Greenlawn Cemetery in Nelsonville. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for David and his family.
