A funeral service celebrating the life of David R. King, age 65, of Lodi, will be held on Tuesday, October 18th at 8:00 p.m. at the Parker & Son Funeral Home in Lodi, Ohio.Dave was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to the late Lester and Betty King. Dave loved his family more than anything. He loved spending time with them, whether having fun in the kitchen cooking some unusual creation to share, or discussing a historical event. He loved playing car racing video games, Words with Friends, watching movies, and working on home projects. He enjoyed living out in the peaceful countryside in his log home. He was also very devoted to the dogs he shared with the family over the years Hershey, Merlin, Lily, Rosy, Shamrock, but especially Peanut.Dave worked for the Pepsi Bottling Company in Ft. Wayne for over 20 years before moving to Lodi to work for Arcelormittal Steel of Cleveland. Dave is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Una; and his children: Melissa, Matt, Mike, and Charlie; and his sister, Cheri Core of Phoenix, AZ. And his many other extended family members, including brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, cousins, wonderful nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.Friends may call from 5:00 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18th at the Parker & Son Funeral Home located at 210 Medina Street in Lodi. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made to the Charlie King Educational Fund for his last year at Kent State.
