A gathering celebrating the life of David Lee Burford, age 62, of St. Louisville, will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, September 11, at the St. Louisville Community Center, 1 School Street in St. Louisville. Please bring a side-dish to share and your favorite story about Dave. David was born October 9, 1954 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Franklin Delano and Mary Doris (Day) Burford. He passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the OSU Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital. Dave attended Utica High School and the Licking County JVS. A veteran of the United States Army, Dave faithfully served his country for six and one-half years during the Vietnam Era. Dave had also been a commissioned police officer for the Village of St. Louisville. He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, bowling and relaxing with his dogs, Necco, Star and Lady. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Sandi Burford; children, Christie Burford, Tina Burford and Cory (Leslie) Burford, all of Newark; seven grandchildren, Shane Burford, Nicholas Burford, Kaylee, Sierra, Chase, Gabbi and Braden; brothers, Mike (Penny) Burford of Zanesville and Tom Burford of St. Louisville; sister, Kathy (Randy) Whisner of St. Louisville; and several nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the David Lee Burford Fund at any Park National Bank.
