A funeral service celebrating the life of David Max Haught, age 82, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark. David was born July 7, 1935 in Licking County, Ohio to the late Walter J. and Florence (Ross) Haught. He passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio). David retired from Tectum where he had been employed for 44 years. He attended the Old Stone Church and enjoyed camping, NASCAR, spending time with his grandson and was an avid fan of all sports, especially the Cleveland Browns and Indians and the OSU Buckeyes. He is survived by his wife, Linda Kay (Peck) Haught, whom he married October 13, 2000; and by a daughter, Janet Kay Kimble of Newark; son, John David Haught; step-son, Todd A. (Vina) Keener of Hanover; six grandchildren, Brian Haught, Samantha Baker, Eric Baker, Blake Williams, Vanessa Williams and Chase Keener. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Sue Baker; a brother, Billy Haught; and a sister, Nadine Haught.
